Color Field I

Date: 2014

Media: Museum Board, Color Chips, PUL Stretch Fabric, Natural Felt Slabs

The generating concept for the Color Field project was to create a flexible canvas where a selection of hundreds of color chips could be composed. With color opposites located on either side of each color chip, the effect is a lively gradient of color that changes with the angle of view. Even more colors are reflected onto the white spaces between each chip — the intentional result of using a slightly reflective fabric in the piece’s substrate. The piece is designed to be easily changed and refreshed. The first iteration of a theme, more Color Field iterations are planned in the future.
